H.R. 4337, the “Regulated Investment Company Modernization Act of 2010,” which was introduced by Rep. Charles Rangel of New York on December 16, 2009 and signed by the President on December 22, 2010.  This bill amends the IRC to revise the tax treatment of regulated investment companies as to capital loss carryovers, gross income and asset tests, and rules related to dividends and other distributions.
