Assembly Bill 1061 (Mullin - 2007)
Chapter 530, Statutes of 2007, AB 1061
Some bill research does not include the Governor's file because at the time we researched the bill, the sitting Governor had not released his chaptered bill file. If the Governor's file is not included with this particular research, please contact our office (1-530-666-1917 or quote@legintent.com) and we will be happy to provide this file at no charge if it is available. Please Note: Governor files did not exist prior to 1943.
Revises the items that must be reported by school districts on the School Accountability Report Card for each school in the district.
Many data elements currently included in the SARC are obsolete, or add little value compared to similar information that is also reported in the SARC or elsewhere. For example, the local standardized tests were replaced 10 years ago by the state's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) tests, the results of which are already reported on the SARC. In another example, although there is great interest in "The degree to which pupils are prepared to enter the workforce." This data element simply invites "boilerplate" narrative while the SARC also requires the reporting of meaningful data such as career technical programs that are aligned to the model curriculum standards and the number of pupils participating and completing career technical education programs.
