Makes several changes to state sanitation standards applicable to dairies, primarily to conform with federal milk product guidelines.
California is a member of the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments, a nationally recognized non-profit organization that brings together regulators and the industry, in order to collaborate on policies aimed at making milk and milk products safe for consumers. As a member, the state is charged with ensuring compliance with federal guidelines. Each of the provisions of this bill is necessary for the state's milk safety and inspection laws to be consistent with federal interstate milk shipment guidelines.
