Old Pols Seek Old Jobs
April 2, 2010
Some bill research does not include the Governor's file because at the time we researched the bill, the sitting Governor had not released his chaptered bill file. If the Governor's file is not included with this particular research, please contact our office (1-530-666-1917 or quote@legintent.com) and we will be happy to provide this file at no charge if it is available. Please Note: Governor files did not exist prior to 1943.
With jobs and unemployment so challenging nowadays, it probably should not be a surprise to learn that even former Governors are looking to reclaim their old jobs – it’s a tough economy!
Currently, running for re-election are:
• Democrat Roy Barnes was Georgia’s governor from 1999 to 2003
• Republican Terry Branstad was Iowa’s governor from 1983 to 1999
• Democrat Jerry Brown was California’s governor from 1975 to 1983
• Republican Robert Ehrlich was Maryland’s governor from 2003 to 2007
• Democrat John Kitzhaber was Oregon’s governor from 1995 to 2003
It will be up to their electorate to decide whether they get another crack at their old jobs!
