Brown Announces Budget for 2013-14

Today – Governor Brown submitted his proposed budget to the California Legislature, which includes the funding for education and Medicare, among other state departments and programs. Specifically, the budget summary indicates that the passage of Proposition 30 will allocate an increase of funding levels to over $1,100 per student in K-12 Education as well as a plan to lower tuition fees for students partaking in the state’s Higher Education system. As for Health Care, this proposed budget will also expand and increase coverage of the state’s Medi-Cal program, of which over 8 million Californians are recipients.
