Switzerland - March 8, 2010

A recent LIS News & Notes mentioned there was a proposal before the electorate in Switzerland to enforce that country’s animal welfare laws that included appointing special lawyers to act on behalf of animals.  Swiss voters cast their ballots this weekend to defeat the proposal overwhelmingly.  With a voter turnout of 45%, 29.5 % favored passage, while 70.5 opposed.
