AB 367, c. 132:  Court-ordered debts.
Enacts the final recommendations of the Collaborative Court Working Group on Enhanced Collections to improve the collection of court-ordered delinquent fees, fines, forfeitures, penalties, and assessments. 

Codifies recommendations that were made by the Collaborative Court-County Working Group on Enhanced Collection Status (Working Group) by making minor changes to existing programs and establishing a new task force to review and recommend changes that will improve the assessment and enforcement of criminal fines and penalties.

The Working Group adopted guidelines for a comprehensive plan regarding collection of court imposed fees. The author explains that the purpose of this bill is to enact the final recommendations of the Working Group. The author explains that this bill also builds on previous efforts of the Working Group by making minor changes to existing programs and establishing a new task force to review and recommend changes that will improve the assessment and enforcement of criminal and traffic-court related fines and penalties. According to supporters, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, "This legislation would make various adjustments to current trial court policy that would result in more effective and efficient revenue generation.
